my first post.
what should i blog about? lots going on.
C and i went to the OBX this past weekend. wanted to celebrate the birthdays of our founding -- LIES. needed time away. the islands that make up the outerbanks are interesting. kind of depleted, beautywise. there is zero economy on the islands outside tourism, and so each island seemed a microcosm of much of the inner U.S. kind of ragged, rundown, and seemingly on the verge of collapse. but the ocean and beaches were nice -- too bad it snowed and blew freezing rain most of the time. luckily our abode was comfy, especially the upgrade to the jasmine suite that our innkeeper so nicely comped us on the last night.
oh, p.s. -- the OBX are dry islands. no liquor! we made due with wine and beer. but just barely.
and because i couldn't resist: seriously, with the ports? the most corrupt, nepotistic administration IN THE HISTORY OF THE WORLD now wants us to trust them that having a state-owned company from a nation with a mixed record on fighting terrorism operate our largest sea ports won't endanger us in any way? i love congress' skepticism here. but where the eff was it in the run up to the iraq war?
bye for now kids.
