i don't really have an opinion on barry bonds. weird on a couple of fronts, that. a) i usually have an opinion about everything. b) i love me some baseball.
but you know what? bleh to the whole barry bonds thing. bleh to congressional investigations. bleh to the fact that people love to cite the fact that his ex-girlfriend testified he had bacne. just bleh.
i would argue this: for bonds it was purely economic. selig wasn't complaining when mcgwire and sosa were hopped up on the juice and breaking records and bringing in mucho cashish. bonds is not an idiot. he's quite wily, in fact, and has said he hasn't played baseball since college, when he wasn't compensated for it and what mattered most was the success of the team.
and you know what? bitch still has to hit the ball.
