that escalated quickly!

while i have no sympathy for the hate-filled warmongers that make up hamas and hezbollah -- they're ugly ugly humans -- i don't understand what the heck israel is doing here. they're escalating the death of innocents. i can't tell if they want an all-out arab-israeli war. it's possible that's what they're after. seems like it.

and, not surprisingly, bush is nowhere on this. what a damn idiot.

the fact that israel uses as an excuse for this the recent capture of two israeli soldiers by hezbollah is pretty gross. there are many palestinians imprisoned right now by israel for being the family members -- and nothing else -- of suicide bombers.

come on.

i believe in liberal democracy and israel's right to exist (it's too late to do anything about the way they annexed land back in 48) -- but israel right now is not, in my mind, within their rights here. and it's not anti-semitism driving my or even jacques chirac's condemnation of israel here, bitches, so don't even make that accusation. criticizing the actions of a nation-state -- actions that do not in any way derive from their jewishness or anything else, but solely from policy decisions -- is both legitimate and necessary.
