The Question of Globalization

what does one do, if one is a government official, about the problems with globalization?

this article highlights, i think, what part of the problem is: everything is reduced to commodifiability. that is, every cultural act and product only has worth if it can be quantified monetarily. the result is that there are no acts that have instrinsic value.

welcome to what frederic jameson calls the logic of late capitalism. it's a brutal, brutal logic, folks. easily understood.

and that's the problem.
